Tank Heads, where applicable, are manufactured in accordance with the ASME Code. Heat Numbers and/or Traceable Identity Marks will be stamped or marked on each head. Three copies of the Original Material Test Reports will be furnished without charge. Additional copies will be provided at a charge of $1.00 per page. When applicable, Partial Data Reports are furnished for two piece or segmental heads.
AMMONIA TANK MANUFACTURERS - When you do not plan to Stress Relieve the completed vessel, we recommend that our heads be Stress Relieved. Ammonia Vessel Manufacturers should specify Stress Relieving on their purchase orders for heads. There will be a nominal charge for Stress Relieving heads.
All L.A. Boiler Works Inc. ASME Code Flanged and Dished Heads are cold formed. Semi-Elliptical heads 3/16' and thinner are generally cold formed. We suggest that you refer to Paragraph UCS-79 (d) of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII, Division I and heat treat if applicable.
L.A. Boiler Works Inc. Semi-Elliptical Heads 1/4" and thicker are hot formed.
All thickness in this catalog are nominal. If a minimum thickness is required, please specify and we will make the proper allowance. Prices on application.
Tolerances are within the ASME Code Specifications and good shop practice. We can hold closer tolerances when required for a specific application. Price on application.
This catalog is based on general shop design sizes of heads. Intermediate diameters and thicknesses can be produced. Please call for quotation.

LIABILITY - Responsibility is limited to quality and workmanship of heads. Liability is limited to replacement of or credit for the defective head. NO CONTINGENT CHARGES WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Claims for shortages must be made within 24 hours after receipt of material. Material lost or damaged in transit will be the responsibility of the carrier.
